Overcoming Creative Blocks
4 ways to help with overcoming creative blocks – Getting your mojo back – Getting back on track
1. Look outside of your median
Your best ideas won’t always come to you when you’re sitting in the same place day after day – Get out and find some inspiration.
What sparks joy for you? Reading? – Escape in the book of your choice. Travelling? – Go somewhere new
Put yourself in a position to absorb information, spark inspiration & joy outside of your usual environment.
2. Don’t develop single pringle syndrome
If you’ve hit a wall, sometimes talking things through with someone else can really help. It’s so simple, yet rarely recognised – a fresh pair of eyes, see situations from a different perspective. No island can survive without added elements, so open up to someone whose opinion you respect.
3. Prioritise
On a day-to-day, we all tend to continuously add to our to-do list. Simplify it and make it SMART. What is achievable today? What is most important? What realistically should/could be moved to another day?
It’s always better to do a few things well than many things badly or half-heartedly. Be ruthless – What can wait? What can you delegate?
Answer these questions and divide up your time so you don’t burn out.
4. Creating a space of inspiration to strike fire
Your working environment has a larger impact on your mindset and creativity levels than you may think. Read more on Creating space for inspiration.
